Optometry clinic

Welcome to our eye care center!

The Floating Hospital has a brand new eye care center right in our clinic in Long Island City. We’re here to help you and your family see better and stay healthy.

Why get your eyes checked?

  • Catch problems early: Some eye problems don’t show signs right away. Regular check-ups can find them before they get worse.

  • Stay healthy: Did you know? A checkup can tell if you have other health problems, like diabetes.

  • Learn and play better: For kids, clear sight helps in school, sports, and just having fun.

  • Enjoy life! Seeing clearly lets us read, watch movies and videos, and fully enjoy the world around us.

What happens during an eye checkup at The Floating Hospital

  • Talk about your health: We’ll chat about any problems, medicines, or if anyone in your family has has eye issues.

  • Test your vision: Using charts, we’ll see if you need glasses.

  • Check how your eyes move: We’ll make sure both eyes are working together.

  • Quick eye pressure test: This helps find a problem called glaucoma. Glaucoma can lead to vision loss if untreated.

  • A look inside your eye: This can tell if the back of your eye is healthy

  • Prescription for corrective lenses: If you need glasses, we’ll recommend the right glasses or lenses for you.
